IMO’s C3 breakers integrate electronic and thermal protection

Leading automation and control specialists, IMO Precision Controls, has launched a new range of motor circuit breakers designed to provide optimal protection in motor applications. The C3 range integrates the function of the moulded case circuit breaker and the thermal overload relay into one highly compact unit.
Accessories, including interconnecting units, allow users to configure combination starters by combining a manual motor starter and a magnetic contactor. The breakers conform to IEC 60947-1, 60947-2, 60947-4-1 and VDE 0660 standards and with UL approval the range offers short circuit breaking capacity up to 100kA Icu without the need for back up fuses.
Four different frame sizes offer the user current ranges from 0.16A to 100A and auxiliary contacts can either be fitted within the foot print of the unit or side mounted. Incorporated into the design are a range of enclosures which enable motor starters to be used on small, purpose built machines. This gives direct motor control and protection from external pushbuttons.
Door coupling rotary operating mechanisms are available with
red/yellow or black handles. The new C3 range fully compliments the
comprehensive range of motor control equipment available from
IMO.
